On 14 July 2021 Jason Reeves and Deepa Sutherland of Zelle’s London office will join a panel of leading climate law experts in Pisa, Italy at one of Italy’s official pre-COP 26 events, “The Role of Science in Climate Change Litigation.”

The 2-day workshop will examine the current and potential future role of science in climate litigation from the different perspectives of climate scientists and legal experts and practitioners, and aims to improve participants’ understanding of how science can help overcome current obstacles in climate change litigation and aid courts in clarifying existing legal obligations of states and private actors to prevent or respond to climate change.

It is co-organized by the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (Pisa, Italy) and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (London, UK), in cooperation with the Center for Climate Change and Sustainable Action (Pisa & Pavia, Italy).
