Jason Reeves to present at an International Underwriting Association Training

September 17, 2025

Jason Reeves, partner in Zelle’s London, UK, office, will participate in a panel discussion at an International Underwriting Association (IUA) Training. This presentation will be the final session of a three-part series of business interruption insurance seminars hosted by the IUA.

IUA Technical Training Session: Sub-limits and Deductibles

Business Interruption (“BI”) insurance covers loss of income if a business can’t operate normally following a specified event.

BI insurance is a technical product. BI wordings, and BI claims, are among the most complex in the market.

“Sub-limits and Deductibles” is the third of three IUA BI seminars delivered by English and U.S. qualified lawyers and a forensic accountant (with more than 75 years’ collective BI wordings and international claims experience between them).

At this third and final session of our Business Interruption training sessions, attendees will discover what every insurance professional needs to know about sub-limits and deductibles as the presenters look at how sub-limits and deductibles operate in BI policies and examine the effects this can have across insurance and reinsurance programs.

Issues addressed in the session include:

  • deductible and sublimit language used in BI policies
  • how the operation of BI deductibles and sub-limits can affect (re)insurers’ exposure
  • different perspectives on “stacking” BI cover
  • exhaustion of limits and priority of payments issues
  • time and cash BI deductibles
  • average daily value clauses

Presenters:

Joe Aldous Forensic Accountant, J.S. Held LLC
Jason Reeves Attorney at Law, English Solicitor, Zelle LLP
Andrew Schutte Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyer, Keoghs

This presentation will take place on September 17, 2025, at Cavendish Conference Centre (One America Square, 17 Crosswall, London EC3). Registration will begin at 2:30 pm and the presentation will commence at 3:00 pm (UK/London time).
