Judith Zahid to Moderate AAI Panel on Global Cartel Enforcement

June 16, 2021

Judith Zahid, managing partner of Zelle’s Oakland office and co-chair of the Firm's Antitrust group, will moderate a panel titled “The State of Global Cartel Enforcement” at the 22nd Annual Policy Conference: Competition Enforcement in the International Arena. The virtual conference will be hosted by the American Antitrust Institute and will take place June 15-16, 2021.

The intersection of competition and privacy concerns in the modern, data-driven digital economy is a seminal public policy issue of the modern era. Its ramifications are on full display in major pending monopolization cases against dominant technology firms, and in privacy and data-protection legislation being enacted, considered, or explored in major jurisdictions around the world. Factoring in the different legal, cultural and institutional contexts in which global enforcers and regulators operate only adds to the complexity of the issue. This panel will examine and compare the key core privacy and competition challenges facing policymakers, regulators and enforcers in key jurisdictions around the world.

Joining Judith on the panel will be Christopher Mayock of the European Commission, Anna Morfey of Hausfeld LLP, and Ann M. O’Brien of Baker & Hostetler LLP.
