Ori Shafirstein
Ori has represented many of the world’s largest insurance carriers in complex coverage disputes and actions in New York State and Federal courts, as well as around the country. He focuses primarily on disputes and claims involving commercial liability and property policies but also has experience in general commercial litigation and liability matters. Ori leverages a deep understanding of policy analysis, litigation documents, and legal strategy to develop comprehensive coverage opinions, strategic reports, and dispositive motions. Throughout his career, Ori has been instrumental in identifying key documents, preparing cases for trial, drafting sophisticated litigation documents, and managing large document productions to secure favorable positions for his clients.
Representative Matters
Represented insurance carriers in a complex, trademark-based bad faith coverage dispute in the Third Circuit, including drafting motions in limine for the matter.
Represented insurer in multi-million-dollar, extra-contractual bad faith lawsuits involving alleged sexual abuse claims, in New Jersey federal court and Delaware state court.
Defended multiple property carriers in $1.4 billion insurance claim, involving both business interruption and research and development claims, based on cyberattack on a pharmaceutical company, including drafting a summary judgment motion and a portion of a mediation statement.
Drafted an appellant brief before the New York First Department, for an action for additional insurance coverage and co-insurer contribution.
