Navigating the Storm: A Guide to Wind & Flood Insurance in Florida
Losses that involve windstorms and floods are becoming more common throughout the state of Florida, and more commercial insurers are writing coverage for both losses. While Florida adjusters are very familiar with windstorm issues, losses involving both covered flood damage and windstorm damage provide unique, novel issues. Our presentation provides insight on when to know the nature of your claim involves both causes of loss and, once it is determined that it does, the key coverage issues we see go awry: deductible application, sublimit application, and ordinance and law issues.
