Matt Veldman
Matt is an associate in Zelle’s Oakland office whose practice spans complex antitrust and commercial litigation. He contributes to matters representing both opt out and class plaintiffs by delivering rigorous legal research and analysis, drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, managing discovery and eDiscovery workflows, and coordinating with experts. Before joining Zelle’s litigation team, Matt clerked in the firm’s Oakland office.
Prior to joining Zelle, Matt worked as a trial attorney in the San Francisco office of the DOJ Antitrust Division where he worked on criminal grand jury investigations as well as civil investigations and litigation.
Representative Matters
Represents United HealthCare Services, Inc. in an individual antitrust matter against the manufacturers of the branded pharmaceutical drug, Zetia, and its generic equivalents, alleging they entered into an unlawful pay-for-delay agreement that prevented lower-priced generics from entering the market for several years. (United HealthCare Services, Inc. v. Merck & Co., Inc., et al., No. 20-cv-01909 (D. Minn.))
Represents indirect purchasers of pro sports trading cards asserting claims against Fanatics and major U.S. professional sports leagues for monopolization and unreasonable restraints of trade in the pro sports trading card market(s). Jones, et al. v. Fanatics Inc., et al., (S.D.N.Y.).
