Hernán N. Cipriotti

Hernán represents clients in all aspects of litigation. As a Senior Associate, he advises clients on complex insurance and reinsurance disputes around the world, with a strong focus on complex US liability matters, as well as international property and construction claims in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Hernán is a bilingual lawyer, fluent in Spanish and English, with a strong international education and background. The focus of his practice is representing London (re)insurers in complex liability disputes in the United States. Hernán routinely advises London-based clients on complex issues such as Climate Change litigation, PFAS, Pollution-Liability, and Personal Injury claims (in legal “hellholes”).

As a natural fit to his background, Hernán also advises international (re)insurers on Latin-America losses. Hernán has acted in matters for (re)insurers in Africa, the Americas, central Asia and Oceania.

Hernán likes to stay at the forefront of developments in the industry and has a strong interest in Cyber, Web3, Insurtech, Blockchain, Parametric Insurance, Decentralized (re)insurance, and protocol/smart contract insurance. Hernán has experience advising clients on data-breach, crypto theft, and ransomware losses.

Hernán received scholarships to attend the prestigious Lester B. Pearson United World College in Canada, Westminster College (US), and the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
