Da-Shon A. Dixon
Da-Shon Akelan Dixon represents domestic and international insurers in complex coverage and claims matters involving professional liability, cyber, directors & officers liability, management liability, and other financial lines products. He partners with claims professionals, in-house coverage counsel, and underwriting teams to evaluate risk, address challenging and evolving coverage issues, and develop claims strategies that align legal, operational, and business objectives. His practice includes advising insurers on coverage determinations, reservation of rights and denial positions, defense and indemnity obligations, allocation disputes, reimbursement and recoupment matters, and potential extra-contractual exposure.
Da-Shon also serves as monitoring counsel in high-exposure liability matters, assisting insurers in evaluating litigation strategy, settlement opportunities, defense costs, and overall claim exposure. He regularly represents insurers in declaratory judgment actions, policy rescission matters, breach of contract disputes, and other contested coverage proceedings throughout the United States. By combining coverage counseling, claims management insight, and litigation experience, Da-Shon helps insurers make informed decisions, manage risk effectively, and position claims for efficient resolution.
