Todd Tippett and Adrienne Nelson will present “All Things Appraisal Related – One Question (and Answer) at a Time!”
The appraisal process was designed to provide a prompt, efficient, and contract-based resolution of a claim when the insured and the insurer disagree about the amount of loss. Increased use of the appraisal process has given rise to abuses by certain individuals who inject manipulation and sometimes outright fraud into the process. These abuses threaten the primary objective of the appraisal process – obtaining an appraisal award that brings an end to the disputed claim. This session will educate representatives of the property insurance industry on the current hot topics in Texas appraisals and how to combat abusive and unfair tactics inconsistent with the insurance contract language and spirit of the appraisal process.
This presentation will take place on May 9th from 8:30 – 9:30 AM CST.
