Thomas J. D’Antonio

Tommy is a senior associate attorney in Zelle’s Oakland office. His practice focuses on complex litigation, primarily in the commercial litigation and insurance coverage areas. He has experience in all aspects of litigation including pre-suit investigation, liability evaluation, mediation, pre-trial hearings, and trial. He is barred to practice in both California and New York. 

Additionally, he serves on the firm's eDiscovery team.

Prior to Zelle, Tommy was an associate attorney with national and international law firms in both California and New York, where his practice focused on civil litigation. While in law school, Tommy was a Legal Intern for the Honorable Michael A. Telesca, a Senior United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. 

Representative Matters

Represent property insurer in California state court COVID-19 coverage suit brought by promotional company who brought claims for lost income derived from UFC fights, New York Fashion Week, and other events related to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Represent multiple property insurers in California state court COVID-19 coverage suit brought by fashion retailer who brought claims for lost income related to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Represent property insurer in California federal court COVID-19 coverage suit brought by property developer and shopping mall owner who brought claims for lost income related to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Represent multiple property insurers in California state and tribal court in ongoing litigation with various Tribal Nations who brought claims for lost income at casino enterprises related to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Represented property insurer in$2.6 million dollar coverage dispute arising out of a Hurricane Harvey claim by a commercial property owner. 

Represented property insurer and successfully resolved$2.5 million dollar coverage dispute arising out of a Hurricane Irma claim by a Florida aquarium. 

Provided coverage opinions and advice for commercial property insurers in countless coverage disputes involving multi-million dollar claims. 

Provided coverage advice to liability insurer in multi-million dollar international product recall claim. 

Provided coverage advice to liability insurer in multi-million dollar claim related to fire at insured’s apartment building.
