Paige Tackett
Paige represents global insurance carriers in matters involving first-party property insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation. She has extensive experience handling all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and attendance. She is licensed in the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, dealing with a variety of lawsuits in both state and federal court.
Paige has been actively involved in managing business interruption insurance claims since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the analysis and management of more than 350 claims in the pandemic’s first year. Her role included the evaluation of claims, identification of nuances in various policy provisions, and addressing potential coverage issues.
Currently, Paige is handling coverage litigation in Texas and New York courts deriving from COVID-19 business interruption claims. She has taken a lead role in evaluating exposure under the applicable policies, identifying opportunities for early disposition, conducting discovery, preparing clients for depositions, taking and defending depositions, and drafting dispositive motions and appellate briefs. She has prevailed on several motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment filed in these matters.
In addition to her COVID-19 expertise, Paige handles a range of commercial property coverage disputes in Texas arising out of wind and hail, fire, freeze, theft/vandalism, and hurricane losses.
Prior to joining Zelle, Paige served as a Senior Attorney at a regional Texas-based law firm, where she managed an extensive docket of commercial litigation matters. She drafted and successfully argued summary judgment motions, facilitated complex settlements, and prepared for trial.
