Jason M. Chodos

Jason primarily devotes his practice to representing the interests of insurers in first-party property insurance coverage matters including commercial, homeowner’s, apartment and condominium properties. Jason has extensive experience litigating and providing advice concerning various property damage losses, business interruption claims and bad faith claims under first-party property policies.

Jason advises insurers on appraisal-related issues, avoidance of bad faith, claims handling practices and strategies for minimizing both the risk and expense of litigation, and he has assisted with revising existing policy forms and drafting new policy endorsements. Jason has given presentations on various topics that impact how insurers do business in certain states, including New Case Law Decisions and Statutes, Trends in the Legal Industry, Claims Handling Practices, Post-Loss Assignments of Benefits, Appraisals, Catastrophic Losses and Public Adjusters.

In addition to his first-party insurance coverage work, Jason has significant experience handling third-party coverage matters. Specifically, Jason litigates and provides coverage advice to insurers concerning various types of commercial general liability matters and claims arising under such policies.
