Steven Badger Quoted in Claims Journal Regarding Pending Hail Legislation in Texas
May 1, 2017Steven Badger, a partner in the Dallas office of Zelle, was quoted in Claims Journal article titled "Pending Hail Legislation has Texas Insurance Industry on Edge."
Two bills, SB 10 and HB 1774, focusing on hail lawsuit reform are presently pending before the Texas Legislature. These bills seek to address certain abuses which have become common in Texas hail claims litigation. Badger is quoted in the article as to what can be expected if the legislation passes. He also sets forth concerns about a potential insurance affordability and availability crisis if the legislation fails.
